Respite and Holiday Support
At Freedom Support, we understand that a change in routine or environment can be unsettling for some individuals, particularly those with autism or additional support needs. Our respite services are designed to provide families and carers with valuable time to rest and recharge, while ensuring the person they care for continues to receive high-quality, consistent, and person-centred support.
For individuals who are most comfortable in familiar surroundings, we can provide tailored support within the family home. This allows families and carers to take a break with confidence, knowing their loved one is being supported by a trusted and experienced team in an environment where they feel safe and secure. We do ask for advance notice so that we can plan each respite package carefully and ensure the right support is in place.
We also recognise that respite does not always need to take place at home. Some families may prefer support to be provided in an alternative setting, including during a short break or holiday. Freedom Support can work closely with individuals and their families to create a bespoke support package that enables the person to enjoy time away in a way that suits their needs, preferences, and aspirations. This may include support to enjoy a holiday independently or with a companion.
In addition, where families wish to holiday together but an individual continues to require dedicated support, we can provide a support worker to accompany them. This enables the individual to take part in and enjoy the holiday, while also allowing family members to relax and spend quality time together with added reassurance and peace of mind.
Our aim is always to provide flexible, high-quality support that promotes independence, choice, wellbeing, and positive experiences for the individuals and families we work alongside.
